Overview: On Wednesday, February 18th, the Career and Technical Education Department will be hosting students, parents and community members at our annual CTE Showcase Night & STEAM Cup. The night will run in conjunction with parent teacher conference night at Louisa County High School from 4 pm to 7 pm. Come out and see our students hard at work on projects, demonstrations and practicing their skills by providing services. Simultaneously, students from our elementary schools will be competing in the annual STEAM Cup event from 5 to 6:30 pm. Watch them collaborate, think critically and problem solve their way to victory!
Services
Our automotive, cosmetology and culinary arts students will be showcasing their skills by providing services to the community! The services will cost $5.00 each, all proceeds will go to support the CTE program.
Automotive Services -
Have your vehicle's oil changed, tires changed and balanced, wheel alignment checked, light bulb changes, air filter replacement and a general inspection done in one of our fully equipped ASE certified shops located behind LCHS! The owner of the vehicle must provide all oil, filters and parts necessary to complete the service. Slots are limited so schedule your appointment by clicking the button to the right.
Salon Services -
Schedule your salon appointment and let one of our talented young cosmetology & barbering students style your hair and nails while you relax in our state-of-the-art spa chair! As with automotive, spots are limited so schedule ASAP to ensure you leave CTE Showcase Night with a fresh look.
Dinner -
Don't leave hungry! Stop by our Culinary Arts Kitchen for a to-go BBQ meal which includes a smoked pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, beans and a cookie. Get your food while supplies last.

Healthcare
Visit our Nurse Aide students during CTE Night to learn about the importance of hydration for health and wellness. Students will offer samples of naturally flavored water, share hydration tips, and demonstrate creative, safe ways to encourage healthy fluid intake—especially for patients in their care. Stop by for a refreshing sample and discover how CNAs can make a difference, one sip at a time!
Cyber Security
Step into the world of digital defense! Our cybersecurity students will help you check and adjust your device permissions to maximize security and protect your personal information. Students will also demonstrate common hacking techniques to show how easily data can be exposed—and how to prevent it.
TV & Media
Do you want to take a close-up look at the technology behind the scenes of our production studio? Stop by and see all the great things we do.
Emergency Medical Technician-
Enter the emergency vehicle to review all the life saving equipment that is placed in this unit. Paramedics will be on hand to discuss their role in the community and how this unit is used on service calls.
Firefighting-
See the ladder truck and all the necessary equipment involved with this rig. Members from the department will be on hand to answers any questions and demonstrate how this unit work
Carpentry
Affordable Housing starts right here with our very own 16-19 year old LCHS teens. Stop by and take a look at our first year on campus students building their first Chestnut Oak kiddie picnic table. *Perhaps you would like to purchase one for your little guys and gals to enjoy feasting or crafting this Spring.

From Cow to Kitchen: The Science of Butter
Shake cream and watch fat molecules transform into butter while learning how animal nutrition, milk composition, and processing affect the food on your table every day. Stop by to taste the science in action!
Plant Systems
Visitors can explore live examples of stem cuttings, root development types, and growth media selection while students explain the science behind propagating plants for greenhouse production or household enrichment.
